Melbourne wins the No1 spot as the world’s most liveable city

What is the best city in the world? Why Melbourne, of course!

Just another Melbourne morning…

We were delighted (but not hugely surprised) to discover that Melbourne has been named the most liveable city in the world for the second year running, according to the EIU’s liveability index, as printed in The Economist.

But what does this mean exactly?

Well, aside from a low crime rate, plentiful good housing and an excellent transport systems, Melbourne has a thriving cultural scene, fabulous food and wine, not to mention some of Australia’s most blissful beaches, all just a stone’s throw from the CBD.

As Premier Ted Baillieu puts it, ‘Our events calendar is packed with iconic cultural and sporting events like the Spring Racing Carnival, the Australian Tennis Open, the Grand Prix, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Melbourne International Arts Festival and of course the AFL Grand Final.”

So what are you waiting for?
