Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road: For love at first sight

Romantic drive along the Great Ocean Road

For a Valentine in Australia like no other, the spectacular Great Ocean Road is just a couple of hours’ drive from Melbourne. Rent a car and wind your way along Victoria’s beautiful coastline to begin your romantic adventure…

Waterfalls and wildlife on the Great Ocean RoadFor relaxation and nature on your doorstep,  your first stop should be Lorne. Set in the heart of the Great Otway National Park, this cosy seaside village  offers stunning waterfalls, luscious rainforests and wonderful wildlife. Check out the panoramic views of the magnificent coastline by heading to Teddy’s Viewpoint. Then get your heart racing while you go for a romantic horse ride along the beach at sunset.

Time to indulge. The Great Ocean Road has plenty on the menu. Lorne’s cafes are steaming with character and culture, including one of our favourites, the Pavillion Cafe and Bar. For a romantic meal out, try Old Lorne Road Olives and Aire Valley Restaurant (delicious dinner).

The perfect ending to a romantic day out? Try a cosy night in at Bambra Cottage – designed for two with a four poster bed, open fire and cast iron bath – surrounded by fields and wildlife. You may wish to book for the week.
